Happy birthday eve

July 9, 2010

I so did not want to get up this morning! The comfy bed just sucked me in and even though Carl woke up hours before me I kept asking for just 30 more minutes each time he came in to wake me up.

Breakfast was fast and included coffee (the nectar of the Gods) and a green monster with two giant handfuls of spinach, soy milk, blueberries and a banana.

Normally I wouldn’t care much about getting up if I was tired but I made an appointment to get some blood work done for my allergy tests this morning (that I’d already rescheduled twice…). I about fell over when the woman pulled out SIX vials of blood to take and tried to make small talk to make the time go faster. I really dislike getting blood drawn (does anyone actually like it?) but the woman did a great job chatting with me and within a few minutes she was done.

We had some errands to run today to get ready for the party that my wonderful friends Hilary and Kristin are throwing me tomorrow night. Carl and I were both able to get everything that we needed and I can’t wait to share the theme with you guys tomorrow!

One stop that we made was to Native Sun for some lunch. Carl and I are still feeling the need to detox from over indulging the last week or so and we decided to get the Native Sunrise to help with the cleansing process.

We also got a turkey ranch club, spinach noodles and popchips. Of course there was also a chocolate chip cookie in there too…

Handsome husband…

After lunch we went to Town Center for a few last things and stopped into Anthro, one of my favorite stores in the world. I just love everything in there, especially the random stuff that can strike a cord with me. Like this quote in a book that I found…

I love it!

I also found this fun mug that I almost purchased.

Carl found this awesome book which is totally him.

I have to admit that I’ve spent a majority of the day reflecting on the last ten years, as this is the last day that I’ll spend in my 20’s. My 20’s brought about so many changes as I grew and tried to discover who I am, what I want and what is important to me. My 20’s brought me:

— Degree #1 from the University of Florida – a BS in Zoology with a minor in Education

— Finding and reconnecting with my soul mate, Carl

…and so many more things that I know I’m leaving out.

So tonight, on the eve of my 30th birthday, I’m reflecting on my wonderful life, eating some great food and spending the night with my best friend. It doesn’t get much better than that!

    Yep, beautiful post!

I actually don’t mind getting blood drawn; it that crazy?

I, too, embraced turning 30. I think life just keeps getting better! I never thought about doing a re-cap of my 20’s…what a ride!
