Gingerbread houses

December 13, 2010

Saturday night Hilary hosted a ginger bread house competition. We were totally up for the challenge and a night with our friends. Although I decided to play photographer for the evening, Carl was a master house builder.

…until it collapsed!

Have you ever built a gingerbread house? Any tips for next year?

This makes me want to build a gingerbread house! I have no tips because it’s been a while since I’ve made one but I love snacking on the candy. 😉

It’s been a long time since I’ve built a gingerbread house, but I recall some grand designs when I was younger. Tips…it takes a lot more time and commitment, but start with real gingerbread (make or buy) and thick icing (think glue).

Hmm…maybe we are just meant to have our houses fall apart then. I don’t know that I can put that much thought or effort into a gingerbread house but it was fun at the time 🙂
